Chief Plenty Coups State Park will hold its 30th annual Day of Honor celebration on Saturday, Aug. 30 with a theme of “Thirty years of stories.”

The event is free and open to the public.

Day of Honor is held every year in late summer to commemorate Chief Plenty Coups of the Apsáalooke or Crow tribe. Chief Plenty Coups is considered the last traditional chief of the Apsáalooke tribe and his bravery, leadership and vision helped bridge the gap between two cultures.

The event will begin with a fun run in the state park sponsored by Aluutaalaahu Many Arrows Community Development Corporation, Friends of Chief Plenty Coups State Park and Apsaalooke Nation Housing. Registration for the run begins at 7 a.m.
