Newcomer Isla Johnston is in talks to play the lead role in Baz Luhrmann ‘s next movie!

Jehanne d’Arc is the acclaimed director’s next movie, following the life of Joan of Arc.

Deadline reports that Isla , 18, has been offered the role. The report says that Baz “winnowed the field down to a small group of youngsters before deciding on Johnston .” The role is said to be a “potential career-making opportunity for the actress.”

Isla was previously seen as the young version of Anya Taylor-Joy ‘s character Beth Harmon in the Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit back in 2020, as pictured here.
