Two men had to be rescued from a raging river in Wisconsin after they entered the water attempting to help a dog.
Bodycam video footage showed the men clinging to the banks of the Menomonee River as first responders tried to pull them to safety.
One of the men was swept away by the swift current and rescued about a half-mile downstream. The other managed to maintain his grip until first responders secured him onto a floatation device and pulled him to land.
"I'm sure that they didn't necessarily want to be in the water, but eventually found themselves there and in distress," Menomonee Falls Fire Chief Joe Pulvermacher told NBC affiliate WTMJ in Milwaukee . "This current is no joke. Anybody who has ever worked around swift water knows that this will drain your energy quickly."
