SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) - The New York Racing Association paid tribute to the nation's service members and veterans on Thursday at the Saratoga Race Course for its annual Military Appreciation Day. NEWS10’s Cassie Hudson introduces us to two veterans that were honored, decades after their service.

Following the fourth race of the day, special recognition was given to 88-year-old Korean War Veteran Abram (Abe) Seeberger from Schodack. Nearly 70 years later, he received his high school diploma from Columba High School after leaving to enlist in the army in the 1950’s.

Lou Bacchi, a 98-year-old World War II veteran, served with U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. He was invited by NYRA to ring the ceremonial bell in the Winner’s Circle seven times at 17 minutes to post to signify when
