“I might be on the tee-box and say, ‘Hello’ to them,” confirmed Matthews, one of scores of volunteers for the US$2.5-million PGA Tour Champions tournament.
“They’ll recognize an Irish accent or ‘Conas atá tú?’ — that’s ‘how are you?’ in Irish — or ‘Tá mé go maith’, which is ‘I am well, thank you.’”
