LAWRENCE — Kansas football’s regular season opener Aug. 23 at home against Fresno State continues to draw closer, and that meant another update on KU’s overall health from coach Lance Leipold.

Leipold noted Thursday, Aug. 14 his Jayhawks are doing alright in that regard, even trending toward being decent. He praised the efforts of the trainers, strength and conditioning staff and other medical professionals in treating athletes to ensure they’re in a quality position when they return to practice. But Leipold did highlight a handful of players who haven’t been as involved in practice of late.

“Dean Miller hasn’t practiced much in the last couple of weeks, that’ll be a big question mark going into it,” Leipold said about the redshirt senior defensive end.
