MARTINSBURG – The Berkeley County Commission heard encouraging news Thursday on ongoing efforts to address out-of-state vehicle tags.

According to Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department Executive Assistant Brandy Sullivan, the sheriff’s office has utilized new methods of contacting owners of vehicles, an effort that’s proved successful, with 55% of out-of-state tag updates resolved, compared to between 30-35% at this time last year.
