BENSALEM, Pa. (WPVI) -- The Bucks County District Attorney's Office has announced additional charges against a man involved in an officer-involved shooting earlier this month.

Investigators say 44-year-old John Mathis , of Levittown, pulled up to a car and pointed a gun at a driver on Aug. 2.

Officers say Mathis followed the vehicle on his motorcycle through Bensalem before police arrived and intervened.

Police opened fire when Mathis allegedly refused to drop his weapon. He was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds and has since been released.

A black 9mm pistol was recovered at the scene. Authorities later determined the firearm was not registered to Mathis.
