Most people at 66 are thinking about retirement. Stan Peterec is thinking about combinations, the punching and kicking kind.
The Victoria martial arts legend and former two-time world champion — is lacing up for another professional fight at Summer Slugfest IX on August 30 at Royal Athletic Park.
“I’ll be 67 in four months,” Stan says with a grin. “Everybody tells me I’m crazy.”
They might have a point. Peterec’s fought professionally for 51 years, won world titles, trained countless fighters, and just to make Guinness sit up and take notice, has never once been knocked out. Or even knocked down.

This fight won’t be for a belt. “When you’re chasing world titles, it meant something,” Stan admits. “Now I just don’t want to get old.”
