ANN ARBOR — Since his performance in the ReliaQuest Bowl as Michigan’s punter, Hudson Hollenbeck has been in the “pole position” to take over the job this season, according to head coach Sherrone Moore.

“It’s been a long time coming,” Hollenbeck told reporters Thursday. “I’m very flattered to have the story I do. I try to work as hard as I can to keep myself in a good position, and it’s finally come to fruition. And I’m honestly just blessed.”
With that role, Hollenbeck is using his platform to raise money in honor of his late mother, Gina, who died in 2022 from Stage 4 lung cancer despite never smoking. Hollenbeck this week launched his Punting Cancer Away campaign in conjunction with Michigan’s Rogel Cancer Center to raise money for lung cancer research and treatment.
