ALLEN PARK — Dan Campbell knows it’s still early, but the recent play of Tate Ratledge, the 57th overall pick in April’s draft out of Georgia, has the Detroit Lions head coach hopeful for the state of his team’s offensive line heading into 2025.

“I have to be careful, I don’t want to (be overzealous, but) Tate Ratledge, I thought, looked like a starting NFL guard yesterday, which fires me up” Campbell said. “It’s early. That’s Step 1. But the kid’s getting better.”
Campbell was particularly happy with Ratledge’s ability to handle the twists and stunts Miami’s defensive front attempted. He also noted the combination blocks thrown by Ratledge and right tackle Penei Sewell, and Campbell said “it looked like the game slowed down for him a little bit yesterday,” referring to
