BOSTON, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Widespread mismanagement and violations have been revealed in an audit released on Thursday by State Auditor Diana Dizoglio.
The report points to a number of apparent issues between 2022 and 2024, which the audit says shows the commission didn’t have enough oversight on the state’s cannabis industry market.
Among the numerous complaints in the audit, the Cannabis Control Commission had financial misstatements and reporting inaccuracies.
The report closed with a statement from the state auditor, “we encourage the Cannabis Control Commission to adopt our office’s recommendations for improvement and will be revisiting the Commission’s progress in roughly six months as part of our post-audit review.”
