Kylie Minogue has responded to claims Taylor Swift stole her look.
The Australian songstress shared her "respect and admiration" for her fellow feather-adorned performers after fans claimed Taylor Swift had copied her style for her recently-revealed album cover.
"When all your friends start sending you your Showgirl mems!!! Awww," Kylie, 57, wrote in a caption alongside an Instagram post featuring a set of photos of herself in full showgirl garb.
"Showgirl" is the name given to female singer-dancers who perform in cabaret acts and chorus lines.
"Showgirl life is 'a thing', multi dimensional and so much more than feathers and dazzle," the Padam Padam singer added. "Respect and admiration to all my fellow hard working Showgirls."
Taylor, 35, announced her upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl, on August 12, with the record cover featuring her wearing showgirl regalia.
Many of Kylie's fans were quick to critique the imagery, claiming it seemed to imitate similar looks Kylie had worn across her career - including during her Showgirl: The Greatest Hits tour and the subsequent tour DVD, titled Kylie Minogue: Showgirl.
"Kylie is the one and only showgirl!" one person wrote on Instagram. "No shade to Taylor but Kylie is the ultimate."
"There's only one Showgirl and that's Kylie!!' another posted.
