Recently called-up Detroit Tigers prospect Max Anderson notched three hits and belted his first Triple-A home run, starting pitcher Alex Cobb was effective in a rehab start, and reliever Tyler Mattison won his first game with the Mud Hens in their 5-1 victory over the Columbus Clippers at Fifth Third Field on Thursday.

Toledo (64-53) got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the third inning. Trei Cruz led off with a walk, Andrew Navigato struck out, Hao-Yu Lee singled, and Ryan Kreidler’s two-run double put the Mud Hens on top 2-0.

The Hens got a trio of singles to load the bases with two outs in the home half of the sixth. Cruz’s two-run single scored both Jace Jung and Anderson, extending their lead at 4-0.

Columbus (50-62) got a run back in its half of the seventh.
