NORMAL ( 25News Now ) - Some students moving into Illinois State University may not have everything they need to start the school year, but one event is looking to change that.

From noon to 5 p.m. on Thursday, students were able to claim items for free at the “Front Yard Free-Cycle” event. During move-in, students were able to browse and claim some items they need to start the school year smoothly.

At the end of the school year in May, students and graduates deposited unwanted furniture, clothes, appliances or other supplies into pass-it-on bins.

ISU senior Gianna Boice thinks that events like the Front Yard Free-Cycle are important to students because they help relieve some of the financial burden that comes with college.
