LEETOWN — For 21 years, Frank Roach has watched smiles ripple across the water at the Eastern Ecological Science Center’s pond.

On Friday, the tradition continued, as veterans, some seasoned fisherman and some holding a rod for the first time, gathered to fish, reminisce and connect.
