Manny Lagos has learned to cherish reunions.

In the last five years, the St. Paul native and former MLS midfielder has made three trips to San Jose, Calif., to partake in celebrations for the Earthquakes’ achievements or milestones. There were 20-year reunions for MLS Cup championships in 2001 and 2003 and a 50-year milestone of the club’s founding in 1974.

“Now that I’m older, I don’t want to make light of those ones because they really don’t happen a lot and they’re special,” said Lagos, 54. “… You have a lot of people who are really excited to see each other and kind of understand the special time of what they did in that time period.”
