ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A man’s family is offering $10,000 to anyone who can help solve his 2016 homicide in downtown Athens.

Daniel Macias, 28, was shot and killed on Aug. 13 at the intersection of Hancock Avenue and Jackson Street, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.

Nathaniel Frierson and Andrew Ke met Macias in high school and share many happy memories of him.

“Fun, goofy, lit,” Frierson said. “He was definitely a good friend.”

“He was always bringing a smile to everybody’s face,” Ke said. “He always had a smile on his face and always uplifted the room he walked into.”
