ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Buford High School held its first regular-season football game at the new $62 million Phillip Beard Stadium Thursday night.

“We’re all excited. We’ve seen it kind of go from nothing really being across the road to what it is now so it’s pretty amazing,” said Jason Bess, who lives in Buford.
Callum McCormack, who attends Buford High School, said he was even more pumped up to root for his team.
“Especially with the new light system and stuff. It really makes it more of an interactive atmosphere,” McCormack said.
The stadium is one of the largest in the Southeast.
