MADISON (WKOW) -- The Dane County Board of Supervisors officially recognized this month as Transgender History Month.

Board members passed the motion, saying it marks their commitment to creating an inclusive community.

They say it's especially important to honor transgender resilience due to the anti-trans rhetoric around the country.

Dane County board members say they are a proud national leader in welcoming and supporting transgender and nonbinary community members.
