New Jerseyans will soon see much-sought-after help on their electricity bills as the state’s energy regulators on Wednesday approved a $100 subsidy to offset high energy prices that have ballooned amid intense summer heat.

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities approved the credit during a meeting on Wednesday, agency officials said. The payment is part of a $430 million relief package Gov. Phil Murphy announced in June.
