TYLER, Texas — Smith County Sheriff's Office K-9 Bella will be getting some protection thanks to a donation from nonprofit Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
K-9 Bella will receive a bullet and stab protective vest from Vested Interest In K9s. The vest was sponsored by Catherine Cavicchi of Kingston, Massachusetts and will be embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of Robert D. Clavin”. The vest is expected to come within 10 weeks.
The body armor is U.S. made, custom fitted, and National Institute of Justice certified. The nonprofit has given over 6,225 vests valued at $6.9 million to K-9s in all 50 states because of both private and corporate donations.
