KJ Apa is opening up about his sobriety.

The 28-year-old actor, best known for starring in The CW’s Riverdale , has been out promoting his new movie The Map That Leads to You and while speaking to Andy Cohen on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live , shared how becoming a father forced him to get sober.

If you recall, KJ welcomed his first child, four-year-old son Sasha , in September 2021 with ex Clara Berry .

During his appearance on Andy Cohen Live , Andy asked how his son was and KJ shared that being a dad forced him to chill and to get sober.

“A lot of things that I realized I had to button up, I buttoned up. And I realized that there’s no other way for me to do it,” the actor shared, adding that he got caught up in the fame after Riverdale .
