Donald Trump will meet Vladimir Putin for a high-stakes summit in Alaska today that could bring about a peace deal in the Ukraine war.
The summit between the two leaders is scheduled to take place at 11.30am local time (8.30pm BST) at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage.
Both the Kremlin and the White House have expressed optimism ahead of the meeting, with Mr Trump estimating that there was only a one in four chance of the summit ending in failure.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday, the US president said: “I am President, and he’s not going to mess around with me.”
