MANCHESTER, N.H. —

The New England Patriots opened preseason with a home win, giving fans optimism for the 2025 season.

The Patriots will play their second preseason game Saturday against the Minnesota Vikings.

During Thursday's practice in Minnesota, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel celebrated his 50th birthday by diving into a scrum to separate players from both teams, according to reporters in Minnesota.

It is unclear if Vrabel was injured, as he was during last week's practice with the Washington Commanders .

Despite the scuffles, Vrabel said the joint practices have been beneficial.
