Kate Harpring, 5-star Marist (GA) senior, commits to UNC women's basketball

North Carolina women's basketball has landed the No. 1 senior prospect in high school girls basketball per 247Sports' rankings.

Kate Harpring, a 5-foot-10.5 point guard at Marist (GA) and the daughter of 11-year NBA wing Matt Harpring, announced her commitment over the weekend to UNC. Per ESPN, she'd also taken official visits to Iowa, UCLA, and Vanderbilt.

Harpring was a Sporting News First Team Junior All-American and Gatorade State Player of the Year in 2024-25 for leading the War Eagles to a 29-3 record and GHSA AAAA semifinals appearance with 32.2 points, 10.6 rebounds, 5.1 steals, and 3.7 assists per game.
