Court in Nkhotakota has sentenced 28-year-old Christopher Kandodo to four years in prison for attempting to sell his 13-year-old daughter.

On July 30, 2025, Kandodo contacted a local trader, informing him that he was selling his daughter for K1.5 million. The trader ignored the offer and alerted the police, who were shocked by the report.

On August 4, Kandodo met the trader at his house to carry out the ‘sale,’ but police swiftly intervened and arrested him.

In his ruling, Deputy Chief Justice Dumisani Katundu agreed with the prosecution’s argument that Kandodo’s actions were inhumane and sentenced him to four years in prison with hard labour.
