SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Today marks a powerful reminder of sacrifice and service. In honor of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II... WSAV is teaming up with the American Red Cross for a special community blood drive.

With blood donations this past year hitting a 20-year low nationwide, the timing couldn't be better. The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force is no stranger to hosting blood drives with the Red Cross, but this year is different. For the first time, it's happening on Victory over Japan Day (V-J Day), honoring war heroes and providing a meaningful way to give back.
