AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - The man convicted of fatally shooting an Akron mom in 2024, will be sentenced in Summit County Court of Common Pleas Friday.
Denzel Pope’s trial began on Aug. 6 and on Aug. 8, a jury found him guilty of murder, felonious assault, and having weapons under disability.
Akron Police said Denzel Pope, 20, and his sister, Corvette Pope, 26, killed Paige Calich on July 28, 2024, outside her home on Socrates Place.
Back in May, Corvette pleaded guilty to one felony count of involuntary manslaughter and one felony count of obstructing justice.
