SOUTHINGTON, Ohio - Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP) have announced that they will be conducting an OVI checkpoint the night of Saturday, August 16.
More specific details on the checkpoint including the time and location will be announced the day of the checkpoint.
OSP Warren Post Commander Lieutenant David Zatvarnicky says there were 579 fatal OVI crashes in Ohio in 2024 and troopers make an average of 25,000 OVI arrests each year to keep impaired drivers off the road.
"OVI checkpoints are designed to not only deter impaired driving, but to proactively remove these impaired drivers from the roadways," Zatvarnicky said.
