The man most responsible for the rise of the Delaware Blogosphere back in the 2000’s has left this mortal realm. Former State Representative, State Senator, Lt. Governor, Governor, and Congressman Michael N. Castle died in Greenville yesterday. He was 86 years old. No information was immediately available as to the cause of death, but he was lucky to live a long life of 86 years.

Mike Castle was elected Governor of Delaware in 1984, succeeding Pete DuPont. Back then, Republicans nationally were sane and moderate enough to win statewide in Delaware. At the time, he was serving alongside Democratic Congressman Tom Carper. In 1992, the two switched jobs, with Congressman Tom Carper being elected Governor and Governor Mike Castle being elected Congressman. Congressman Castle served in office
