Cam Allen made his Canadian Football League regular-season debut on Thursday night for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The former Graham High School star started at safety and made seven tackles in Winnipeg’s 30-27 triumph over the Ottawa Redblacks.
The 25-year-old Allen had spent the previous eight games on Winnipeg’s practice squad before an injury to cornerback Terrell Bonds elevated him to the active roster. Wearing No. 0, he was on the field for the Blue Bombers for the first time since the preseason.
Allen made his first stop with 11:26 remaining on Ottawa’s first play from scrimmage, bringing down Justin Hardy after a 40-yard gain.
He was later called for two defensive pass interference penalties.
