In 1972, pioneering Christian rock artist Larry Norman posed the question: “Why Should the Devil Have All the Good Music?” After viewing the abysmal state of contemporary music at the 2017 Grammy Awards, Norman, speaking to reporters from his heavenly abode, now wonders what happened to all this ‘good music’ he spoke about forty years ago.
“Wow, I had no idea it could get this bad,” said Norman, who passed away in 2008. “Kelly Clarkson? Justin Bieber? Katy Perry? Nickelback? If I had known the Devil could make such awful music I would never have written that song.”
At the time of the song’s recording it was Christian music that had room for improvement, but now even the “devil’s music” is complete garbage.
