WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL) — On Thursday, around 11 a.m., Williamson County deputies say they responded to an accident on the 19000 block of Corinth Road, where a van hit a home.
The van had traveled 500 yards through a cornfield, then eventually collided with the front porch, deputies say.
The driver told authorities that the crash happened due to a mechanical error. The accelerator became stuck, resulting in the inability to stop.
The sheriff's department says the driver was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
