The Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Habitat for Humanity remains under investigation, but under new leadership, the nonprofit homebuilder is looking for a fresh start in the meantime.

Staunton Commonwealth’s Attorney Jeff Gaines confirmed to The News Virginian that the nonprofit homebuilder’s operations and finances are still being looked into after allegations were made against Executive Director Lance Barton, who resigned in May 2024.
