Head to a county fair, where you stuff your eyes with wonder, your heart with hope and your stomach with comfort food. We’re talking fried Oreos, funnel cakes, cotton candy, candy apples, elephant ears and milkshakes made from cows raised by 4-H kids.

Last week, I volunteered at the archery booth at the Cuyahoga County Fair. I’m a member of the Crooked River Archers, so I got to help more than 30 people learn how to shoot, most of them kids.
