One of Jersey's oldest construction groups, which has been in operation for more than 80 years, has ceased trading.

The Style Group, which includes firms such as AC Mauger, becomes the latest firm to close in Jersey following the collapse of Kalmac in July 2024 and Camerons in 2023 .

It's understood employees were told on Thursday but it's not yet known the cause of the collapse and how many jobs will be lost.

Construction bosses say they are worried about the knock-on effect the closure could have on smaller firms working in the island.

Mike Osborne, spokesperson for Jersey's Chamber of Commerce, said: "This isn't new news. We've been concerned about the amount of investment in the construction industry for some time.
