The fifth annual Fraid Knots Kid’s Ride will be held Monday, Aug. 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Country Club Plat neighborhood.

The event raises money for the Fraid Knots team, which has participated in the Pan Mass Challenge for more than a decade. The team has deep roots in Barrington. It was inspired by Charlie Ames, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2011. At the time, Charlie’s favorite song—"Not Afraid" by Eminem—became the team's anthem. Charlie bravely beat the odds and is now cancer-free and attending college. The Fraid Knots team recently passed the $1 million mark in fund-raising, and team members continuing their mission with events like the Aug. 25 kid’s ride.

Kids can ride a mile-long loop through the Country Club Plat neighborhood as many times as they would like.
