Air Canada has canceled several flights after the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), which represents 10,000 of the airline’s flight attendants, issued a 72-hour strike notice on August 13, 2025. The strike is set to begin on August 16, 2025.

The dispute centers on demands for better working conditions, unpaid work, and higher wages. In a statement, Air Canada confirmed that it canceled several flights on August 14, 2025 , affecting more than 7,900 passengers, and will continue to reduce them gradually until the planned industry action.
