CHIPPEWA FALLS – Aspirus Health has broken ground on its new hospital and clinic in Chippewa Falls.

According to a release from the Wausau-based health system, crews started clearing the 22-acre site on Chippewa Crossing Boulevard earlier this year ahead of the Aug. 14 groundbreaking ceremony. Crews will start building the 35,000-square-foot facility in the next several weeks. New roads will be built to improve access to the new hospital and clinic, as well.

Aspirus plans to complete the Aspirus Chippewa Falls Hospital and Clinic in September 2026.

Matt Heywood, Aspirus Health’s president and CEO, said the Chippewa Falls project is an extension of Aspirus’ commitment to serving rural and small-town communities and meeting the evolving needs of the area.
