Detroit police are investigating the death of a missing 15-year-old boy as a homicide after his body was found in a cemetery on Thursday, August 14 in the city's west side.
Lawrence Dowl's body was found by a mourner at Mt. Hazel Cemetery near the intersection of Lahser and Clarita, said Marcus Thirkill, captain of Detroit police's homicide division.
The teenager was reported missing a day prior, on August 13, from the 19900 block of Salem — about three miles away from the cemetery — after he didn't come home from going out with a friend the previous night. He was last seen wearing black joggers, a black jacket, and black shoes. When police found him, he was wearing a ski mask and gloves, Thirkill said.
Thirkill said police are waiting for the Wayne County Medical Examiner to determine
