SACO, Maine — A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection with the July assault and robbery of a woman in the parking lot of Aroma Joe’s in Saco.

Officers responded around 11:23 p.m. on July 8 to a report that a woman had been assaulted and robbed by a man who fled the scene on a bicycle with an unknown amount of cash, Saco police said in a press release. Officers searched the area that night but could not locate the suspect.

Detectives later reviewed surveillance footage and identified Emil H. Girard as the suspect, police said. Girard, who is already being held at York County Jail on separate charges, was served an arrest warrant Thursday, according to police.
