Baton Rouge Police have identified the shooter in an apparent murder-suicide Wednesday morning.

Guadalupe Reyes Vasquez, 42, of Baton Rouge, was identified as the responsible party in the fatal shooting of Mirtalarellana Ramirez, 55, police said.

Officers responded to a shooting before 6 a.m. Wednesday in the 11200 block of Florida Boulevard. Ramirez was transported to the hospital, where she died of her wounds.

Witnesses at the scene told police that Rameriz and a "guy friend" had been arguing for two weeks, police said.

That same morning, homicide detectives were notified by East Baton Rouge Sheriff's deputies that a man had been found dead of a gunshot wound in the 16000 block of Hamilton Avenue.
