ESSEXVILLE, MI – The Essexville-Hampton Public Schools bond proposal story continues after failing by 51 votes in May .
School officials are hoping that playing the long game this time will increase the chances of swaying those 51 votes and securing the needed funding.
Over the summer, Superintendent Davion Lewis listened. Having taken over the district in the wake of its failed $13.5 million bond, Lewis spent time trying to find out what happened. He held a series of discussions with students, parents, staff, and community leaders.
