Are we any better than the Taliban?
The White House’s recently announced review of Smithsonian exhibits to ensure alignment with President Donald Trump’s political themes brings to mind other similar attempts to purge culture of what is deemed in the short term to be politically objectionable ( “White House orders Smithsonian review to ‘ensure alignment’ with Trump’s vision,” Aug. 13).
It coincides with the display of Confederate related monuments that were vandalized and removed from Baltimore in a political spasm that did nothing to improve anyone’s life.
