Keith Moore is back in Wilmington-area athletics.

The former longtime New Hanover athletic director is returning to Topsail High as the school's next athletic director, Topsail announced Aug. 15.

Moore spent 20 years leading New Hanover's athletic department before retiring in 2021. He also coached baseball at North Brunswick from 1989 to 1996, guiding the Scorpions to a state championship.

He replaces Tod Morgan, who stepped down after nine months in the role but remains an assistant principal at the school.

Moore, now 60, will be tasked with leading a Topsail athletic department that's experienced seemingly unending drama in recent years.
