MADISON, Wis. — About 100 gallons of wastewater entered a storm sewer at the Nine Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant on Tuesday, the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District said Friday.

Overnight operations staff reported the overflow at the plant on Madison’s south side. The storm sewer crosses the facility and discharges to Nine Springs Creek, according to the district.

Staff contained about 2,000 gallons of wastewater on the plant grounds near the pipe, the district said.
