WAVERLY, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a white Jeep Cherokee was stolen by four people in Waverly early Friday morning.

Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said deputies responded to a report of a vehicle theft in the area of 140th Street and Amberly Road.

Video of the incident shows four people entering the vehicle before leaving with it, Houchin said. The suspects were also allegedly seen trying to open the doors to a different car before running off.

A white pickup is believed to be involved in the theft, according to LSO.

Houchin said the stolen Jeep has not been recovered, and he believes there could be more victims.

“We’re strongly telling everybody please don’t leave valuables in your car, take your keys out,” LSO Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said.
