LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - Officials have released a report analyzing recent deaths in Nebraska that stem from domestic violence showing a relatively low rate of such deaths but noting an increase over last year.

A Friday release from the state Attorney General’s Office says the Domestic Abuse Death Review Team recorded 72 domestic violence deaths in the state since July 21, 2022 — when the team was established via the Domestic Abuse Death Review Act.

“It’s important to note that the data may not reflect all domestic abuse-related deaths during this period due to statutory limitations, ongoing case reviews, or pending determinations,” the report states.
