Emi Martinez is unavailable for selection this weekend due to suspension after being sent off at Old Trafford on the final day of last season.
However, Unai Emery will be able to pick him against Brentford next weekend as he will only serve a one-game ban, the club confirmed.
Some reports claimed that Martinez was going to be hit with a three-match suspension after cynically barging Rasmus Hojlund over to prevent him having a goalscoring opportunity.
However, Martinez's actions were not deemed to be violent conduct, and instead only 'denying a goal or an obvious goal scoring opportunity'.
The incident happened after Matty Cash played a short back pass to Martinez, before United striker Hojlund raced through behind the Villa defence.
